We are the federal government's competence center for the procurement of complex and security-relevant systems and goods as well as for technology and real estate management.

We train around 20 apprentices in the following professions:

  • Management assistant EFZ (with or without vocational baccalaureate as well as apprenticeship and sport)
  • Computer scientist EFZ (specializing in platform development and application development)
  • Mediamatician EFZ
  • Physics laboratory technician EFZ

Apprentices can expect a varied apprenticeship in an exciting environment as well as individual support from motivated and competent vocational and practical trainers.

We combine a wide range of competencies under one roof and thus cover a broad spectrum of services. As one of four federal procurement offices, we work for the Swiss Armed Forces and various other federal administrative units. Our clientele also includes partners in national security cooperation and customers outside the federal government. Our field of activity includes neutral evaluation and timely procurement, the commissioning of maintenance services and the sale or disposal of technologically complex systems and materials. We run a competence center that handles the DDPS's WTO tenders and provide a wide range of scientific and technical services. We also operate the DDPS's real estate management.

What our employees say

As we move to a different department every semester, this makes our day-to-day work very exciting and varied. The practical trainers are also very helpful and support us in all areas of our teaching.

Matthias Wahlen

Apprentice businessman

The apprenticeship system is one of the Confederation's personnel policy priorities. Today and in the future, it is important to train apprentices in various professions to high standards and thus make a significant contribution to the diversity of the professional world in Switzerland and the future performance of the economy. armasuisse is actively addressing this issue in an extremely challenging environment and is giving apprenticeships a high priority today and in the future. We value our apprentices as valuable employees and colleagues who contribute to the outstanding performance and culture of armasuisse with their commitment.
