What our employees say

Yannick Brunner is 17 and in his third year of training as a computer scientist in systems engineering. His alarm clock rings at 5.30 am. "Much too early, but what the hell," says Yannick. Then he drives to Bern, just under an hour. Bedag is only 7 minutes away from the main station. What's more, Yannick can work from home and even choose his preferred model himself. The trainers are a great support to him. Together with the clever training concept, they have ensured a 100% success rate at IPA for years. Yannick is aiming for at least a five, because he wants to go ski surfing in Portugal. "That's part of the deal with my père - I deliver to the IPA and he pays for the trip to the sea. Fair enough." Doing the math: As a CFO, you should be able to do this, that's obvious. And because I'm quite good at it - I'll just say that for myself - I'm particularly happy to spend money on one budget item: On the training of our apprentices. But of course I don't do it just like that. Of course, I think it's economically right and important to invest in the next generation. To give young people a springboard into a promising career. To bring a breath of fresh air into the company. To learn new things. To actively support the successful Swiss vocational training model. At Bedag, we are particularly keen to invest in young talent because we know how to do the math. And we know that it pays off in the long term to build up IT talent ourselves instead of buying it in at a high price later on. I am delighted that we are not only happy to do this, as has now been confirmed, but that we do it particularly well. However, we will not rest on our laurels and the Great Place to Start cube, but will try to keep improving. So that we can continue to be the digital heartbeat of Bern in the future.
