The FOITT is the digitalization engine of public Switzerland. With around 1,700 employees, it supports the Federal Administration in all IT areas, from initial customer contact to the finished IT product. The wide variety of customer projects, pioneering technologies and working with agile methods are part of our everyday work.
Today, the FOITT is the fourth-largest ICT training company in the canton of Berne and is strongly committed to the further development of ICT vocational training. The aim of the FOITT's promotion of young talent is to support motivated teenagers and young adults during exciting years of training to help them develop into employable professionals.
The area of promoting young talent has been training IT specialists EFZ since 1999 and has also been offering training as a mediamatician EFZ since 2012. In 2008, the FOITT was one of the first training companies to introduce training as a supporter (from 2018 ICT specialist EFZ) and has also been involved in the latest "digital business developer EFZ" apprenticeship from the outset. The practice-integrated Bachelor's degree course in IT offers an ideal entry point for high school graduates. A total of around 90 junior employees complete their training at the FOITT at any one time. More than 250 apprentices have already successfully completed their training at the FOITT - the majority of them remain loyal to the FOITT after their apprenticeship.

During their training, our learners are consistently at the center:
The aim is to train apprentices to become sought-after ICT specialists. They play a key role in shaping their individual training path - for example, by choosing the focus of their training themselves from a wide range of attractive practical placements. Committed practical trainers put their heart and soul into passing on their knowledge and involve the apprentices in day-to-day business and ongoing projects.
To ensure the trainees get an optimal start to their apprenticeship, the Vocational Training Center (Bbc) organizes an introductory week focusing on getting to know each other, sports activities, and having fun together. Afterwards, everyone completes a basic training year at Bbc, which prepares them as best as possible for their apprenticeship at BIT. This allows them to start the 2nd year of their apprenticeship well-equipped for day-to-day business and BIT projects.
Along with a laptop, a smartphone, and an attractive monthly salary, apprentices also receive a half-fare travel card. That is a great basis for discovering the whole of Switzerland during their 7 weeks of vacation.
