General Building Cooperative Zurich (ABZ)

Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Zürich (ABZ) is the largest housing cooperative in Switzerland. It plans, builds and manages cooperative, affordable and sustainable housing and living spaces in the city of Zurich and the surrounding area. Its focus is on socially mixed neighborhoods, ecological construction methods and participatory co-determination by members. The ABZ does not pursue profit maximization, but promotes affordable housing and communal living in the long term.
