In 1868, Boston watchmaker F. A. Jones founded the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen. He wanted to combine advanced American production techniques with the craftsmanship for which Swiss watchmakers are renowned. For more than 150 years, our mechanical timepieces have been handcrafted in our workshops with great attention to detail.

Our six Watch families combine precise engineering with timeless design, bringing high-quality technology and unique emotions to the wrists of our customers all over the world.

What our employees say

Even before I started my apprenticeship at IWC Schaffhausen, I was impressed by the company's demeanor and team spirit. It harmonized from the very first second and now, for almost two years now, I have been inspired by an incredibly great corporate culture with helpful, courteous and extremely collegial employees time and time again. I consider myself really lucky, if not proud, to be part of this community.

Jonas Badertscher

Businessman in 2nd year of apprenticeship

What makes IWC special is a unique mix of people. The interplay of engineering spirit and the passion that people bring to their work. Our culture is characterized by a "can-do" mentality, paired with a pinch of humour.

Christoph Grainger-Herr

Chief Executive Officer

IWC is characterized by innovative, well-trained and highly motivated employees. The ambition not to stand still and to remain flexible, better and competitive in an ever faster changing environment is the reason why I come to work highly motivated every day. Here I meet colleagues who are pursuing the same goals and who, in a friendly atmosphere, are committed and focused on working towards IWC's success.

However, our employees are not only proud of our products, but also of the team spirit and family working atmosphere at IWC, as well as the contribution that each individual makes to the success of the brand and IWC as a company for society and the region. It is very important to us that apprentices can also make their own personal contribution to the company.
