The Swiss Handball Federation (SHV) was founded in 1974 and is the national umbrella organization and competence center for the sport of handball in Switzerland. It unites over 200 handball clubs with over 20,000 licensed players.

The SHV is a member of Swiss Olympic, the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the European Handball Federation (EHF). In addition to the national teams and national tasks, it also manages and unites the top leagues Quickline Handball League (QHL) and SPAR Premium League (SPL) as well as the seven regional associations.
With a team of around 20 full-time employees, SHV operates from its headquarters in Olten.
