Ivoclar Vivadent inspires young people for scientific professions and is honored for it

For the second time, the Great Start! training company Ivoclar Vivadent was able to impress with its commitment to promoting young talent. This is why the company has been awarded the "Special Prize for the Promotion of Young Talent 2020" again this year. Read the article to find out what convinced the jury of tunErlebnisschauen and Great Place to Work® about Ivoclar Vivadent.

These criteria are taken into account

In order to qualify as a teaching company for the "Special Award for the Promotion of Young Talent", firstly the variety of offers and measures in the area of the promotion of young talent are scrutinized. Secondly, the originality and uniqueness of the programs in question are examined. Thirdly, the inclusion of current apprentices in the activities relating to the promotion of young talent is taken into account. And fourthly, we look at the "human touch": In other words, the extent to which the personal is incorporated into the measures. In order to evaluate these measures, the training concepts of the training companies that they complete as part of the Great Start! training company certification are analyzed.

"The award is confirmation of our commitment"

Ivoclar Vivadent is delighted: "We feel honored and incredibly proud," says Aleksandar Toth, Head of Vocational Training. "It's great to see that our efforts to promote young talent are being seen and recognized. We have been committed to an outstanding training culture for many years - it is important to us that our apprentices are satisfied and feel encouraged and supported professionally, personally and in terms of their health. We see the renewed award as confirmation and appreciation of our commitment to promoting young talent and are all the more motivated to inspire young people for scientific professions, among other things, and to accompany them on their training path."

Ivoclar Vivadent was already recognized as one of the best training companies in Switzerland by Great Place to Work® in 2018 and was also awarded the Great Start! In both 2018 and 2020, they were also awarded the special prize for "Promoting young talent". "The apprentice survey clearly shows how satisfied the apprentices are. They say they feel welcome, supported, encouraged and challenged and would recommend their training company to friends and acquaintances," comments Leah Martorelli, Great Start! Manager at Great Place to Work®. "The training concept also shows how Ivoclar Vivadent is actively committed to promoting young talent and what they offer their apprentices."

"Ivoclar Vivadent effectively lives the promotion of young talent as they describe it"

Samuel Hofmann is project manager at tunErlebnisschauen and explains in an interview what was decisive for Ivoclar Vivadent's victory.

Great Place to Work: Why did Ivoclar Vivadent win the race?

Samuel Hofmann: "One of the deciding factors was their wide range of offers and measures in the area of actively promoting young talent," explains Samuel Hofmann from tunErlebnisschauen in an interview. "However, Ivoclar Vivadent won us over above all with the variety and originality of the measures they offer in the area of promoting young talent. They do a lot to get young people interested in their professions and, above all, in science and technology. While all of the participating organizations are aware of the importance of promoting young talent and implement appropriate measures, they also go that extra mile. And this was ultimately the decisive factor in awarding the special prize. During the assessment, we had the impression that Ivoclar Vivadent actually lives the promotion of young talent as they describe it.

Great Place to Work: What does Ivoclar Vivadent do particularly well when it comes to promoting young talent?

Samuel Hofmann: In addition to the Future Days, participation in a career show and guided tours for school classes, Ivoclar Vivadent has also set up its own laboratory for classes, for example, in which chemistry lessons can be held. Further examples are the digital career presentations with live experiments to participate in, as well as the digital "RoboLeague by Ivoclar Vivadent", where school classes build and program autonomous robots and compete against each other in an online competition. On the website, you will find further content and activities on the topic of promoting young talent, which you can say make all the difference.

Together with the tunErlebnisschauen, Great Place to Work® Switzerland awards the special prize to organizations that specifically address the issue of promoting young talent.

About the award
The special "Promoting young talent" prize is awarded to organizations and training companies that make a special effort to promote young talent. "It's about paying special tribute to this commitment, as it is not a matter of course," adds Samuel Hofmann from tunErlebnisschauen.ch. tunErlebnisschauen.ch aims to get children and young people aged 6 to 13 interested in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The special prize was therefore created by combining the aims of Great Start! and tunErlebnisschauen.ch.
