These are the best of the best 2019: the World's Best Workplaces

After the continent comes the world: In June, the awards for the best employers in Europe took place, now we are choosing the best employers in the world! To make one thing clear: We are talking about the best of the best of the best! It all starts with certification as an excellent employer, followed by participation in the national competition - for example the "Best Employers in Switzerland". The best of these winners take part in the European competition. And from these winners, the best in turn enter the race to be named World's Best Workplace.

What the best in the world do even better

Well, first-placed Cisco, for example, takes corporate social responsibility (CSR) very much to heart. CEO Chuck Robbins sets a good example: two years ago, he initiated a five-year donation of 50 million dollars to a non-profit organization called Home, which helps the homeless in San Jose, where Cisco has its headquarters. This action sparked other "Cisconians" around the world and ignited their zeal for social responsibility. For example, an employee in South Africa opened an orphanage in Rwanda. But that's not all: Cisco has gone so far as to make CSR a business priority.

Fourth-placed DHL also sets high standards in terms of philanthropy and care. DHL organizes a "DHL's Got Heart" award, where employees are recognized for their private commitment to charitable activities. The winners receive the equivalent of almost CHF 27,000, which they can invest in charitable projects of their choice.
