How can an employee survey become the starting point for meaningful culture development? Volg made a conscious decision not to begin with measurement, but with building a shared understanding of culture and leadership. Together with Great Place To Work®, this became the starting point for a long-term culture journey - from involving the entire management team and conducting the employee survey to implementing concrete measures.
Culture development starts before the employee survey
Volg wanted to do more than simply understand where the organisation stood. The aim was to create a shared foundation for its continued culture development. As a first step, the entire management team explored what defines Volg’s culture, how it is experienced in everyday work and what role leadership plays in shaping it. The employee survey was then prepared and conducted on the basis of this shared understanding.
From feedback to concrete priorities
The results highlighted both existing strengths and areas for development. Together with the leadership team, Volg identified five priority areas: Balance, care, leadership skills, innovation, and team spirit. Cross-functional and cross-hierarchical groups then began translating these priorities into concrete measures.

The culture journey continues
Being recognized as one of the Best Workplaces™ Switzerland 2025 does not mark the end of Volg’s culture development journey. Over the coming years, the organization will assess the impact of the measures already introduced and use these insights to define its next priorities. The next employee survey is planned for 2028.
