"Culture eats strategy for breakfast", Peter Drucker once said, making it clear that a company's success depends heavily on its workplace culture. This is precisely our position at Great Place to Work®: companies that address and work on their workplace culture are more successful - as shown by the results of studies based on our evidence-based methodology.
Now, however, the world of work is also changing more and more - and further developments of our proven model take these changes into account. And so that as many companies as possible can see the benefits of an outstanding workplace culture and know how it can be measured, we organized a breakfast event - based on Peter Drucker's quote: the Culture eats Strategy Breakfast.
On the last Friday in November, the time had come - at 7.45 am, the first coffees and teas were poured in the "Au Premier" restaurant at Zurich main station. The first participants arrived and were able to get to know each other before the presentation started at 8.15 am.
Our methodology guru, co-owner and consultant, Tom Schneider, explained the drivers of the new world of work (social technologies, meaningfulness of work and agile working methods) and thus also the reasons why companies should decide to actively shape their workplace culture. The results are impressive: In organizations with a trust-based workplace culture, staff turnover is half that of the industry average.

Our methodology for measuring workplace culture and the various factors helps companies to find out which levers they should set in motion. On the one hand, the Trust Index® is used to survey all employees and determine whether a trust-based workplace culture prevails - because this is the basis for an outstanding workplace culture, alongside practiced values and leadership quality. If this basis is in place, the potential of ALL employees can be unleashed - thereby strengthening innovation and increasing value creation. And that is also the core of the new methodology!

After the presentation, there were croissants, coffee, tea and muesli for the guests. This also gave them the opportunity to network with each other, as the presentation provided enough exciting input for an exchange between companies from different sectors - because ultimately, everyone is facing the same challenges. Or simply: Culture eats Strategy for Breakfast.
